Soapbar Humbucker Help
« on: November 09, 2015, 07:51:30 PM »
This is my first post, so I hope it's a fair introduction.  I have a PRS SE One that I love, but I want to get rid of the hum.  I don't need exact P-90 mojo.  I'd be happy with it, but I'm happy with a good 'bucker tone, too.

I'd like to get a DiMarzio because the range of available P-90-sized 'buckers is relatively wide.  My biggest issue is figuring out which one might be right for a korina guitar.  Any advice?

I tried two of the P-90 sized humbucker types: the DLX-90 (which is no longer offered as a regular production model) and the DLX Plus (bridge version).

DLX-90: has the vibe of a hotter PAF, bright but not harsh, good output, sufficient bass, still pairs well with a P-90 in the neck.

DLX-Plus: definitely hotter than DLX-90, very smooth and warm sounding pickup with enough edge/brightness. Good allround pickup.

Cheers Stephan

Korina accentuates mids like crazy. The DLX Plus ought to be great in there.
DIMARZIO MODELS CURRENTLY OR PREVIOUSLY OWNED: 68 TOTAL
