Using a pot to dial in coil tap
« on: August 08, 2015, 09:53:11 AM »
Hey all you knowledgeable folk, I am hoping you could answer this one for me......

I have an old lp style Kay which I love but needs new pickups.

My plan is to have a 1 pup guitar (leaving the bridge pup in place but unused) which leaves me 4 pot holes - 1 for vol, 1 for tone and 1 for a killswitch. I know I could use the 3 way but don't want to break it. This leaves me with 1 hole left, which I want to use the spare volume or tone pot from the bridge pickup to dial in a coil tap from the humbucker, partly for cost reasons but mostly for aesthetic purposes, I reckon a 3 pot 1 switch would look pretty cool. is this possible?

Many thanks

Yep the dial a split is completely doable.

Just swap the Red with the Black for DiMarzio.
