I recently picked up an early 2000’s Ibanez Paul Gilbert PGM300.  This guitar has PAF Pros at neck and bridge.  Neck is good, but the bridge is way too bright for me.  I want a little more drive and a lot less highs. I’m thinking Tone Zone or Gravity Storm.  Any other suggestions?

If you only want a little more drive, Air Zone or Breed bridge (if you can find one) would be a good fit. Gravity Storm bridge could also work well. I am considering replacing an AT-1 with the Gravity Storm bridge at the moment in a bright guitar but I haven't got around to do it yet.

Mo Joe would also be a little less bright and a bit hotter than the PAF Pro but since you said you wanted a lot less highs it would not be my first choice.

For Basswood? The Dimarzio Airzone. Balances well with the Paf Pro neck.

I was in this same situation with an rg921.  Hardtail too!

I went with a set of breeds.  I've heard them described as a vintage version of the an/tz set.  I can see that.

Fat humbucker tones combined with the bright top end equals balanced tone.

Using the ibanez 5 way hh wiring, the neck is decent in parallel,  and excellent in split.

The inner coils parallel is a really nice stratty sound with the 5kish neck coil and 8.4kish bridge coils.

They would be too warm for a non bright guitar. 

They have this aggression to the mids that make gain pop

Thanks (I’m being sarcastic because I have more pickups than guitars to put them in). Now I want a Breed Bridge. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.

Breed bridge is great to fatten up guitars that sound a bit bright and/or thin. Unfortunately it is only available as a custom model but at least it is not discontinued. I was lucky to get a black one which one dealer had as remaining stock before the price increase.
