Quote from a forum member on the mylespaul forum on the Al di Meola set:

Al DiMeola Neck (DP201): output=230mV, treble=6, mids=4, bass=6, DC=10.87K.
Al DiMeola Bridge (DP202): output=275, treble=5, mids=8, bass=8, DC=10.84.

The magnets are AL5, they are not airbuckers, and the neck pickup has dual-resonance coils.

From these specs it looks like the neck pickup is wound with a wire thinner than 42 AWG - otherwise the rated outputs do not make sense given both models use the same magnet.

PAF (DP-103) - none (?)

The old PAF DP103 has none of the techniques mentioned (? could be removed). Also Super 3 could be added with none. Took one of each apart just a few days ago.

Yes, in principle it could be removed but I think it is more convenient for anybody looking up a specific model. Thanks for the Super 3 info - I will update.

Cheers Stephan

Hi, my comment was referring to the question mark (maybe not clear enough)…

Updated Transition bridge - I bought one new and it had all three patents on the label. However, I did not take it apart to verify airbucker and virtual vintage.

EDIT: edited the update again as the label reads: "This pickup features one or more of the following patents ...". That means that the label in itself does not tell which patents are used.

Cheers Stephan

Transition bridge - Dual Resonance
Transition neck - Dual Resonance

For completeness sake, here are the patent numbers:

Dual Resonance: 4,501,185
-Airbucker: 5,399,802
-Virtual Vintage: 5,908,998

I think there is a slight incorrect info here. Transition set has Virtual Vintage patent, not dual resonance :)

I havent seen that post. So double post. Anyway, For old pickups, it better use wayback machine since old website reveals the patent(s) that was used for them. And i measured the pickup and Transition does not have dual resonance or airbucker
