I'm building a partcaster and was going to do a Humbucker (Bridge) Single Coil (Neck) config, and leaning toward the Chopper in the neck position.
What would be a good bridge humbucker to balance with that?  I was thinking maybe the AT-1...
Anyone tried that combo?  Also looking to split and combine coils.

Bumblfoot from Sons of Apollo uses a chopper neck with a Tone Zone bridge. His toned sound pretty good.

What kind of tone are you looking for in a bridge humbucker?

A well rounded sound with good clarity and harmonics.  Fat but not over the top fat and muddy.  I have the Chopper T in my Tele and love it - read that it makes a great neck pickup also, so part of my choice depends on how well it will interact with the neck.
Not looking for super high output - more on the high end of medium.

I would say AT-1 or Norton. I think both would work well with the Chopper in the neck.

Couple more questions:

1.  Do I need F Spacing for the Hipshot US Contour tremolo bridge? String spacing on that E-E is 2.08" or 52.832mm.

2.  Would The Chopper (in the neck) be too high output to balance well with the AT-1?  The former is 260 and the latter is 320.  I'm asking in regards to audible volume - I don't want to have to play with the volume all the time.  By comparison (and this may be arbitrary), Andy Timmons pairs his AT-1 with The Cruiser, which only has less than half the output at 140.

I would likely wire it to be able to split the Chopper for more of a spanky Strat single kind of tone.

My alternative would be to use the slightly hotter Tone Zone in the bridge...

Dimarzio recommend F spacing if the bridge saddles are 53mm apart, E to E. Your bridge sounds so close to that measurement that I would say use F spaced. Normal spaced pickups are usually for Gibson style bridges.
