Confirm my 70's Dualsound Date + pot choice
« on: January 03, 2017, 09:30:27 AM »
Hi guys,

Have decided to put an old DMZ Dualsound into the bridge position of a strat.

I believe it is the 3 conductor + braid version(coil tappable) of a Super Distortion and if I remember correctly I bought it around the middle to late 70's, I think possibly '78.
Would this be correct?

Will attach pics when upload folder full error is fixed. Pics only 150kb total but .......
(The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.)

Also is it feasible to use a 250K pot for the single coils tone and a 500k for the DMZ dualsound. I am going to use a push/pull Vol(500k) to tap the dualsound.

Thanks for any help.

If it's a 3 conductor, that sounds about right to be a dual sound. It was one of the few pickups that had that option back then.

Using a 250k pot for the neck and middle and a 500k for the dual sound is possible and has been done before.

I'll look into the pics upload thing. I gotta update the forum software anyways.
