Help with old HS-2
« on: September 07, 2016, 10:07:26 AM »
Hi all,

I have this old HS-2 and I thought I would come here for some expert advice...

This pickup had been living in a pick guard (and not in a guitar) for at least the last 25 years.  Based on the patent date, I would date this guy to 1984 or earlier (since there's no patent number on it).

When I removed it from the pick guard recently, the two coils easily came apart.  Is that normal? There is some residue that I think is probably wax.

I would like to get it up to sellable condition.  If the coils are supposed to be stuck together, what is the best way to do it?  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

It seems I can't post pictures of any size...

J

Unfortunately I cannot offer any help on the pickup but I also failed in uploading pictures, even small sized ones.

Cheers Stephan
