Hi guys!

First post here! I've got myself an Ibanez RG3520 with a mahogany body and I want to replace the pickups in it. I'm not shure which ones I should put in but I really like the sound of the SD custom and Jazz that I have in another Ibanez but the don't fit in this guitar which is routed for dimarzios and i wonder if there's someone who knows which dimarzios I can get who sounds as similar as possible.
I have checked out the Crunch lab /liquidfire combo but regarding to the specs they seem to be to dark sounding to a mahogany body guitar.
Any advices?

This question comes in the Duncan forum in reverse all the time "What Duncan's sound like [insert DiMarzio here]"

Overall, each company has a different tone.  Larry and Seymour just have different ears.  There are often no pickups that sound the same.  That's why there is a SD and a DMZ!

That said - answer your own question:
Custom is a hot Ceramic with basically a classic PAF EQ curve
The Jazz is a fairly bright/even moderate output pickup

Which DiMArzio's is that?

If you are set on the Duncan Custom and Jazz combo you could ask their custom shop whether they can make you a set with short leg base plates.

I played a Custom once but it did not sound like any DiMarzio humbucker I tried. Maybe the Norton but (i) I never played that one and (ii) its specs are different from the Custom (different magnet and probably different wire as well).

No idea what would be close to the Jazz.

I think a good approach might be to think of what you want more of less of from what you already have.

Or maybe describe your rig and your ideal tone.

From what I have heard and read I would say te Titan set would be exactly what you are looking for.

Well let's forget about the Duncans.
It's a mahogany body guitar with a bolt on maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and I want a tight articulate but not dry sound from the bridge pickup. I don't want it to have to fizzy tones on the g,b and high e-string.
The neck pickup shall not sound to dark and muddy and not have to less gain compared to the bridge pickup but a good match and och nice and clear sound when playing clean sounds. 

The pups I've been looking at is Evolutions.

I play Heavy Metal and progressive metal with some modern influences.

With that amp I would stay away from high output pickups as it has bucket loads of gain.

Nothing wrong with high gain amp, high output pups -

Just remember to use the gain appropriately!  Meaning lightly….

But yeah - if you want to let the preamp tubes run wild, no need for a high gain pup.  A DiMarzio PAF and turning up the preamp should sound awesome., and a lot like a Custom, but somewhat more organic and a touch warmer.  Unless you want the cool steely tones of a ceramic magnet.

I have the gain knob at 12 o clock and we play pretty loud during rehersals. 
A hot PAF pro with ceramic magnets would be nice.

To your original question-
Keeping in mind that the Duncan Custom overpowers the Jazz a little bit...

The Humbucker From Hell is very similar to the Duncan Jazz. The Breed Bridge, or the Super Distortion, or Air Zone would come close, but not too close, to the Duncan Custom.

Like the Duncans though, the Breed or Air Zone, or Super D may overpower the Humbucker from Hell a little. I run the Humbucker from Hell with the Fred, and it balances well.
