Guitar Wiring Help Please!
« on: March 19, 2019, 03:22:44 PM »
Hi Guys,
I'm fairly new to guitar wiring and I'm having some trouble wrapping my head around how I'm going to wire up my PRS Zach Myers SE. I've already installed a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro set and I'm mostly happy with the sounds I'm getting, but I really miss the "neck/bridge coil split" sound I get in the middle position in my Ibanez SZ520. I bought myself a Dimarzio EP1111 4pdt toggle switch, as I understand this will allow me to do what I'd like. I've searched the interweb a bit, Dimarzio wiring diagrams and Duncans, but I can't find how to wire the switch with 2 volumes and 2 tone pots.

What I'm after is...
Up: Neck Humbucker
Middle: Neck/Bridge Coil Split
Down: Bridge Humbucker

Also know as "Petrucci Wiring" I think.

If anyone could help me out with a diagram or some advise, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!
Mark

Typically you'd want to wire the main lead wire to one of the volume pots then to the switch kinda like a Les Paul.
