bright up pro track
« on: May 26, 2015, 04:02:20 PM »
hi again!
well i have a pro track and i like how it sounds but its too bassy and i want it to be a little bit brighter.
i had it wired with 250k and liked it but it was too dark. wired it up with 500k and it was too boomy.
i want to change it back to 250k but do you know a trick to make it more bright?
ahh the guitar is a fender strat with maple neck
thank you
cheers

You could try spin a split. Instead of a traditional tone it lets you adjust one coil out - lower output and brighter tone.

Could also play with pickup height.

Have you tried a 280k or 300k pot?

Alternatively you could kinda make your own custom value by running a a resistor across the input and ground lugs on a 500k pot.
