Does anybody have any experience with the super 3? I want to put it in the bridge of a basswood/maple ibanez. Looking for vai/satriani shred sounds with thrash metal chugging.

But yes, Ive used it quite a bunch.
Ive used it a lot live and also on a few records.

On this record (DEMONOID - Riders Of The Apocalypse) its a basswood Ibanez 540PII with a Super 3 in the bridge and a Super 2 in the neck. Its used for all guitars on this cd.

Here (THERION - Sirius B) its on all melody and lead guitars. Same guitar as above.

Its a dark pickup, it works well in bright guitars.

Hey guys loooong time,been busy writing playing & living a good life.That guy from Thermion is awesome what's a good album of theirs with him on it to get.Plus I'm going to put a super 3 in a mexi strat(alder) or squire ( basswood) both maple fretboard,sperzel locking tuners & vintage bridge. Currently I play through a Blackstar I'd 100 head.What would be good single coils to go with the super 3 for sweeps,skipping & technical playing any help would be appreciated thanks!!!

My favorite Therion albums I play on are Sirius B and Gothic Kabbalah.
Sirius B is all the Super 3/Super 2 combo while Gothic Kabbalah is EMG 81/85.

I havent found a good singlecoil to match the Super 3 in gain and output but if you can live with the look/sound of a railbucker I'd go Satch Track or Chopper. If you want really crazy over-the-top shred tones in the neck position check out the Fast Track 2.

Wow!!!!didn't know that was you!!!I'm honored you responded back :DD.Should I go hot "rails" single coil or should I do like a full sized humbucker & if so what do you recommend. What musical projects are you up to nowadays???

Well, for me Id always go with a fullsize humbucker in the neck, I just think that sounds better than a railbucker. For killer rock/metal/shred tones the Super 2 or the PAF Pro are my favorites with the Super 2 being the hotter and more aggressive of the two. The PAF Pro is a bit more versatile and has way better cleans. Both are awesomesauce though.

I read some of your other posts where you said you love the Tone Zone. Me too, its my favorite bridge pickup and that sounds glorious paired with a PAF Pro in the neck. The S3/PP will also sound great.

Current bands....we´re working on a second Demonoid record (have been for a long time) but the band Im out most with these days is an epic/doom band called Sorcerer. Its classic metal/doom in the vein of Dio/Tony Martin-era Sabbath and Candlemass.

Nope I don´t have a YT-channel, sorry.

Unfortunately I havent tried the on-board booster so I cant comment on it. Id like to try it though.
