Has anybody ordered or tried any DiMarzio pickups that were not wax potted? Just wondering if non wax potted pickups sounded different. Early Gibson PAF’s were not potted. I’ve read that Fender dipped pickups in lacquer which probably only gets through a minimal amount of the coil wind layers.
